(April 27- May 27)

Kyle
mmm  green smoothie!
  • used drum to climb up on couch
  • will walk backwards and then plop on your lap
  • runs at you and falls into you
  • has gotten good at climbing the stairs
  • Likes "This Little Piggy" song and anticipates the "wee wee wee..."
  • has a new "quiver laugh" when he's excited!
  • likes game when I use 2 fingers to make a person at meal time and hide it/tickle him
  • covers his eyes with his hands
  • got lots of new outdoor toys: slide, water table, sand box, baby pool, picnic table
  • loves being on the couch and looking out the windows and playing with pillows
  • showed him how to crawl backwards off couch and he will do that sometimes
  • will follow simple commands like "drink your bottle" and "get/throw the ball"
  • climbed up onto our platform bed without any help!
  • climbed onto a box of diapers
  • put a ball in basketball net correctly
  • mastered getting on and off the couch (using pillows or the L shaped part to help)
  • nods his head up and down "yes"
  • Learning different motions to "If You're Happy and You Know It" like stomp your feet, pat your head
  • High 5
  • Climbed on glider all by himself, Tyler immediately followed.  Now he tries to climb from that chair to the entertainment center
  • slide into pool outside
  • Says/cries "Mama' when he's upset
  • STANDS on the seat of his John Deer Tractor
  • Game: I put a little blanket or burp cloth on his head and say "What's on your head?"  He runs away, pulls it off, and comes back to do it again.  He thinks it's so funny!
  • Loves green smoothies and drinking out of a cup and water bottles
  • stopped wearing sleep sacks at night when it got hot out

Tyler

  • threw Kyle's batman shoes into the toilet
  • doesn't try to climb up past first stair while watching Kyle climb them all

  • stamps his feet in a happy dance
  • pulls his ABC doggy around the house or follows it when I pull it
  • twists his upper body to dance
  • Likes "This Little Piggy" song and anticipates the "wee wee wee..."

  • High 5
  • Climbed on glider all by himself, right after Kyle
  • slide into pool outside
  • puts ball on tee and plays with bats
  • Says "Dada" but not sure how intentional it is
  • STANDS on the seat of his John Deer Tractor
  • Game: I put a blanket or burp cloth on his head and say "What's on your head?"  He runs away, pulls it off, and comes back to do it again.  He thinks it's so funny!
  • Loves green smoothies and water bottles
  • stopped wearing sleep sacks at night when it got hot out
  • 1st mohawk after I wiped all the food out of his hair after a meal & made it stand up.  His hair is getting longer! He has some long hairs over his ears but isn't getting a hair cut yet, despite Uncle Nick always asking!

Other highlights:
  • We switched from infant car seats to the convertible car seats.  They look little again since the seats are bigger!  I was worried about logistics of getting 2 kids in the car (when there's only 1 adult) but it has been pretty easy.  You just do what you need to do!

  • We had to say goodbye to our cat Nala.  :(  We got her when she was just a kitten and she was only 7 1/2 years old.  We found out a few weeks ago she had a tumor and she was not going to get better.
last picture with Nala

  • Celebrated my 2nd Mother's Day.

  • Celebrated at Aunt Haley's bachelorette party!

  • The boys came to my school orchestra concert. The "big kids" loved seeing them.  Tyler sat through the whole concert very content.  Kyle got a little fussy and had to go out in the hall and during intermission he was climbing the risers in the front.
Running the halls after the morning concert!

Who doesn't like sleeping pictures??  Red, white & blue on Memorial Day.

celebrating my birthday at Red Robin

celebrating my and my father-in-law's b-days

They love using the activity board as a tent and crawling through it.

first visit to Springton Manor Farm

baby lambs!

Enjoying a wagon ride to Rita's!  Kyle knows how to sit back and relax.

The first time I took the boys to Kerr park (by myself) was exhausting.  They went in different directions and I was constantly carrying one and chasing the other.  There are many things they were too little to do and I didn't want them to get hurt so I was keeping a close eye.
What I learned that night: Use the backpack leashes!
(Which I did next time I took them. So much better!)

1st date night out together (unless you count 2 other times that were for family/church events) since the twins were born.

Corn flavored ice cream with cinnamon (or chili powder if you prefer) on top!
Sounds weird but it was yummy!

Celebrating my sister-in-law and niece on the way at her baby shower!
