twins 11 month update

Twins 11 month update! (Jan 27-Feb 27)

How do the weeks and months pass so quickly?? I just can't believe my babies will be 1 in one month. They change so fast and my heart is incredible full of love! They are smothered in kisses daily. They are hard work but bring so much joy to us. What an honor to watch them grow and discover. So what was new this past month??? Two little WALKING boys!  (I realize some of you don't really need all these details.  This is for my own memories/keepsakes.)

Kyle loves when you ask him “Where's your nose?” and point to his.
Tyler has a new smile where he scrunches his face/nose.

At the beginning of the month, they started taking 1-2 steps between furniture or toys or us. They started cruising really well and do laps around the coffee table.  They love playing with the remotes (especially Apple TV) and hiding them from us too.

Tyler started shaking his head like he is saying no. Kyle tried to imitate him but he does more of a “wobble head”. So now they do this a lot when they're in their feeding seats. Kyle also does it other times when he's being silly.
Tyler sucks in air really fast when excited.
Feb 7 weekend: Both boys take 2 steps!
They like to play ball. Kyle will kinda throw the ball. Tyler would rather pick it up, drop it and follow it/crawl after it.
Feb 11: The boys started using the walker toy. At first it was tricky since it would move fast than they could walk. But now they've got it!
Feb 17:  I thought it'd be fun to take them out in the snow.  But really, the logistics of taking 2 babies outside when you're home alone is not easy.  I got myself bundled up, then the boys, then managed to scoop them up and carry them both outside at the same time, plop them in the snow, take a few pictures...they lasted about 30 seconds before they started crying (plus they were getting hungry).  But I got pictures!  And that's what important, right?  ;)

Kyle loves to open the kitchen cabinets (and toilet seat) now. (Time to baby proof more...)
Valentine's Day weekend: Both boys take several steps (8-9ish) before falling!!
We went to a playgroup and took pictures in a “kissing booth” one of the mom's made. I did my own photo shoot at home too with LO-VE onesies I made.

Sometimes we catch the boys trying to hold hands while in their feeding seats. :)  It's hard to catch a picture.  Photo credit: Nana!

Kyle will now hand things to us. It's so cute. He also tries to climb the (crazy) stairs. He looks at me with the cutest smile but I tell him it's too dangerous!  I only let him go this far up one time.

They discovered the cat door and try to look through it and put their hands through the hole.  They haven't started throwing their toys down it...YET.

They are figuring out more things with their toys. For example, Kyle will put toys in the toy Pelican's mouth.
Both are recognizing their names. They look when you call them. Kyle was in the kitchen with me and Nana and when Pappy called his name from the living room, he crawled there by himself!  We were impressed.
Nana and Pappy babysit most Tuesdays.  They love their "twin days"!

They finally started finger foods and like to eat pieces of banana, Puffs, & teething wafers. They get REALLY excited when you shake the Puffs container. Tyler screams really loud!

They started escaping the chorale gates (since it wasn't connected on the ends).
Tyler got THREE new top teeth all at once. He's finally sleeping better!
Kyle had his first bandaid on his left pointer finger. It was bleeding and I don't know how he hurt himself.

Feb 24: Tyler walked over the baby gate without falling! Maybe he just got lucky.
They put puzzle pieces in their mouth like pacifiers. Kyle will even move his face to the floor to pick it up with his mouth instead of picking it up with his hand. Haha
They like to play peek-a-boo.

I love how they like to look at books now!  They will sit and let you read to them too.

Aunt Sharon and Josie visited and the cousins interacted more now that the boys are more mobile.  Josie gave Kyle a hug! She's so cute with them. We are expecting a new cousin any day now!  (Edit: My new nephew Corbin was born March 2!  Yay!!)
I love this photo of my sister and Kyle!

They attended their first Superbowl party and had fun playing with their friend Elsa and her cool toys!

We met baby Ginny Appleby and hung out with a few of our best friends from college.

According to my scale at home, Kyle is 20 lbs and Tyler is 17.6 lbs.  They are in 9 month clothes, sleep from about 8pm-6:30am or so, take 2 naps a day, & eat 3 meals a day plus bottles.

I am in full party planning mode now for the twins' first birthday and my sister-in-law's upcoming baby shower!
